This paper therefore seeks to establish the veracity of this standpoint. Nevertheless, it is lucid that humanitarian and moralist themes run along his work, Life on the Mississippi River. On the other hand, there are critics who point out that Mark Twain’s themes straddle both moralist and non moralist matters, irrespective of his leanings on religious matters.
